Fall Harvest Hamburger


2 Pounds of hamburger

1 Tbsp garlic

1 Tbsp paprika

1 Tbsp chili powder

1 Tbsp parsley flakes

1 Tbsp pepper

1 Tsp each salt

1 Egg

2 Large Porabella mushrooms finely chopped



Mix. Can make a one bite patty to microwave and test seasonings. Adjust to taste. If too spicy, can add a sweet to counteract. Molasses, maple syrup, brown sugar will add flavor as well as cutting the heat.


Remove from heat and lay 1/4 inch thick slices of Havarti cheese over the top to melt. Lightly butter or oil the cut sides of an onion bun and grill. (If using frying skillet, wipe out hamburger grease with paper towels and tongs to protect hands from burns.)


Layer bottom bun with hearty lettuce such as butter crisp, romaine (tear out the thick them up into the center and bring the sides of the leaf around and over each other to create a circle.)


Slide hamburger with melted cheese onto lettuce and top with roasted red pepper, sautéed onion and top of bun. Add hearty mustard, organic ketchup, pickles to taste.
