Decked Out Fourth Of July
Let freedom ring! Easy and inexpensive ways to add patriotic accents to your next barbecue or deck party.
Setting The Table
Mix and match patterns with textures. Chevron placemats (fabric cut into 12x15 inch pieces) paired with a burlap table runner gives this table a modern-rustic feel.
Instead of using napkins that get blown away, replace them with bandannas folded into a pocket to place silverware in. Plastic metallic silverware (purchased at any party or dollar store) add a polished touch but make for an easy clean up.
Fresh cut flowers with food coloring in the water add an extra pop of color. Embellish the focal point with an American flag and tie the vase with twine or matching ribbon.
Stars & Stripes Mocktail
Cool off with this delicious Stars & Stripes Mocktail. All you need is a mason jar, ice (we used star-shaped ice), Fruit Punch Gatorade, Blueberry-Pomegranate Gatorade, and Diet 7-Up.
How To: Fill the jar completely with ice and pour in the Fruit Punch Gatorade about one-third of the way up. Then pour very slowly on the back of a spoon the Blueberry-Pomegranate Gatorade two-thirds of the way up. Then pour very slowly on the back of a spoon the Diet 7-Up. Pouring the Blueberry-Pomegranate Gatorade and Diet 7-Up will keep the liquids from mixing.
